Se p 20 02 HIGHER LAWRENCE CONFIGURATIONS
نویسنده
چکیده
Any configuration of lattice vectors gives rise to a hierarchy of higher-dimensional configurations which generalize the Lawrence construction in geometric combinatorics. We prove finiteness results for the Markov bases, Graver bases and face posets of these configurations, and we discuss applications to the statistical theory of log-linear models.

We describe the first lattice determination of the strong coupling constant with 3 flavors of dynamical quarks. The method follows previous analyses in using a perturbative expansion for the plaquette and Upsilon spectroscopy to set the scale. Using dynamical configurations from the MILC collaboration with 2+1 flavors of dynamical quarks we are able to avoid previous problems of haivng to extra...

We propose the coordination of lattice QCD grid developments in different countries to allow transparent exchange of gauge configurations in future, should participants wish to do so. We describe briefly UKQCD's XML schema for labelling and cataloguing the data. A meeting to further develop these ideas will be held in Edinburgh on 19/20 December 2002, and will be available over AccessGrid.
متن کاملGender dependence of serum soluble Klotho in acromegaly.
OBJECTIVES In acromegaly, disease activity is biochemically assessed by growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) levels. However, they are often discrepant, as several factors including gender influence their relationship. We recently found excessively high serum levels of soluble Klotho (sKl) in acromegalic patients, which depended on GH to a comparable extent as IGF-1. To ...

The entanglement entropy of SU(N) lattice gauge theory is studied exactly in 1 + 1 space-time dimensions and in Migdal-Kadanoff approximation in higher dimensional space. The existence of a non-analytical behavior reminiscent of a phase transition for a characteristic size of the entangled region is demonstrated for higher dimensional theories.
